Chiropractic care is a complementary medicine practice that gives your body needed support to heal disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system. This means the treatment plan will help support your nervous, muscle and skeletal system with the goals of:
* relieving pain
* restoring function
* reducing the effect problems have on your overall health
* developing a life time of wellness
Chiropractic specialists focus on the relationship between your spine and your nervous system, and the effects that these systems have on the rest of your general health. The practice is done in a drug-free, hands-on environment designed to build a treatment program based on a physical examination, a thorough history and possibly other laboratory or image testing. If the results of your assessment reveal a problem that would best be addressed by another health care practitioner, we can refer you.
When it is needed, chiropractors commonly work together with medical doctors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, acupuncturists and other professionals to provide you with the best team possible to address your issues.
Your treatment plan may include adjustments to restore mobility to your joints, recommendations for therapeutic and rehabilitation exercises, nutritional counseling and lifestyle management. These more natural forms of health care can complement the care you receive with another practitioner or can be the only treatment required to restore your health.
There are three different levels of care that we can provide for you.
Phase I: Relief
Our initial goal is to relieve any pain or discomfort you might experience in your daily activities or participation in sporting events. Getting you back to your normal daily life is vital. The number of visits necessary to achieve this goal will depend upon how long you have been experiencing the issue and the severity of the problem. During your first or second visit we will discuss an individualized treatment plan based on the results of the examination and any testing that might be necessary.
Phase 2: Restore
Once you have found good relief from the pain or discomfort, it is time to discuss the treatments necessary to prevent this problem from recurring. During this phase of treatment the muscles heal more completely and your body accommodates to being used correctly. There are very small, exciting changes you can make that will have substantial positive results on your health and satisfaction with your daily life. You are always in control of how much or how little you want to accomplish.
Phase 3: Wellness
Once you have restored good function and have healed from the initial issue, it is important to continue to use therapeutic exercises and wellness care to promote your physical and mental health. Our focus is your wellness. We provide you with a simple and easy treatment plan to help prevent any further injuries or issues and help you continue along a path of wellness. This type of regular attention will help catch small problems before they become serious ones. Prevention will save you time, energy and money.
