Chiropractic care can help the whole family. We offer children, teens and adults services that will benefit their unique needs and rarely requires a referral from your primary care doctor.
The most common cause of pain and injury in the body results from overstretched, stiff or weakened muscle groups. For example, your calves may be too tight, creating stress on your Achilles tendon.
We offer the following services designed to relieve your pain, restore function and help your body develop a higher level of wellness.
Chiropractic Adjustments
Adjustments are the primary method of treatment by doctors of chiropractic. There are several different techniques that are applied by hand in a controlled fashion that exerts a low force on specific joints. These movements help to relieve pain and restore function. Patients find that they also experience reduced muscle spasms, decreased joint inflammation and improvement in muscle balance.
The purpose of the adjustment is to restore the mobility to your joints. They rarely cause discomfort but you may experience some mild soreness afterward, much like you would after some form of exercise. This soreness normally resolves in 12 to 48 hours.
Massage Therapy
Massage is the manipulation of muscle and connective tissue to improve function, help the healing process, reduce the excitability of muscle reflexes and promote relaxation. There are many different types of massage that can be added treatments to your chiropractic adjustments. Regular massages can decrease the need for pain medication, enhance the flexibility and range of motion that results from your chiropractic adjustments, improve circulation and give you a faster recovery time.
Therapeutic Exercises
Therapeutic exercises are different than the cardiovascular exercises or weight lifting that you might be most familiar with. While jogging, tennis, rowing, swimming and other activities help to improve your muscle development, heart health and help you to burn calories, therapeutic exercises are systematic performance of planned movements. These movements help your body to relearn the most functional way of movement through planned physical movements in a systematic manner.
These therapeutic exercises include training your body with functional mechanics, gait training, balance training, relaxation exercises and postural stabilization. We will show you how to integrate a variety of different techniques each day that will improve your muscle strength, flexibility and stability.
